DaVita Inc. is an American-based kidney care company with corporate headquarters in Denver, Colorado. DaVita is currently the largest kidney care companies in the United States with 1,777 dialysis facilities, 138,000 patients and 36,500 employees throughout the country. Their primary focus is on kidney care including hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, vascular access management, renal diet assistance and educating for chronic kidney disease. DaVita, originally named Total Renal Care, was founded in 1999 as a company to provide kidney care programs and support for children and adults suffering from associated ailments. Total Renal Care was originally located in Los Angeles but changed its name and moved to Denver in 2010. The company has been features a business school case from Stanford Business school, one of the ?Top 10 Most Admired Healthcare Companies? by Fortune magazine for five years in a row, on the Fortune 500 list in 2009 and the Fortune 50 list in 2010.
